Idriss lives alone with his mother in the city projects. Every night, his nose pressed against the windows, Idriss observes an old man paint letters for commercial banners.
One night, Idriss is ambuched by a mob of local kids on their way to a "tagging party". A shock on the head, a few stars swirling around, and the black hole....
Rescued by the old painter, Idriss becomes the old man's apprentice. What Idriss will learn is much, much more than a trade... a new life filled with hope opens up in front of him...

Idriss vit seul avec sa mère dans le bloc C de la cité. Tous les soirs, le nez écrasé sur la vitre de l'atelier, il regarde, émerveillé, un vieux peintre en lettres travailler. Un soir, Idriss se trouve pris dans une bagarre entre des " taggeurs " de la cité et une bande de gros bras. Un choc, un éclair dans la tête et c'est le noir...
Recueilli par le vieux peintre, Idriss commence alors un apprentissage qui va bouleverser sa vie...
